- Artist's Statement
-
-
- In some ways, I believe we all try to
create something of beauty, whether it's home
- decorating or landscaping a garden or
even personal improvement. Painting is my
- primary way of creativity. Although my taste in art is totally eclectic,
I have chosen
- formal abstraction as my style, and
have developed a technique of simplicity.
- Composition is paramount, then form
and line. I always work out the whole concept
- before picking up a brush.
-
- My paintings have one aim-to be beautiful,
or at least interesting, in themselves.
- They are not a medium for me to say
anything. I am trying to produce art that is free
- of sentimentality, messages, politics,
or topics.
- In my view, I would like there to be
a direct experience between the viewer and the
- art, with no thought of the painter
or his motives.
